Spontaneous trip to Orlando, Florida

This past Friday Jacob got off at 9:00 in the morning (that never happens) so we decided to take advantage of the extra long weekend and head to Orlando to go to the beautiful
Orlando, Florida Temple.
Just a side note...There we met someone from the surrounding stake who had a great contact for jobs. We will see where that takes us in the next few months :)
While driving to Orlando we saw a plethra of signs advertising cheap tickets to Disney World, so we thought we would check it out. After a goose chase of trying to find these tickets, we were finally told that there are no such tickets. The next morning, Jacob worked really hard at getting us into Disney World, and a few attempts later we were able to get in with a great deal. Thanks Jacob!
I should mention here that Addison was super excited to see the princesses (or her friends as she calls them) and to go inside Cinderella's castle. When she found out we had tickets she started jabbering in the back about how she was going to shake all of their hands and tell them nice to meet you. Then she was going to borrow Belle's car and drive it around, and then fix all of them dinner. She sure knows how to make me smile :)
So here is our unplanned, very spontaneous adventure at Disney World. Addi with her favorite princess Sleeping Beauty
Addi and Cinderella
Addi and Belle
Addi and Snow White
Addi and a fairy (not sure which one)
Our first ride
It's A Small World After All
We loved it!
We rode on this one three times :) It was Addi's favorite
Come on Babe...you can do it!
Inside Cinderella's castle
The Moa outside Cinderella's castle
Addi and the beanstalk house
(We just checked this story out at the library a few days before our trip, so Addi was excited to see it and take a picture by it)
Trying on hats in the beanstalk house
Addi trying on a Pluto hat and helping her dolly (Kyla) try on a Goofy hat.
(If you will notice, Addi has Kyla in every picture...she takes her around 24/7. I love it!)
Addi wanted to take a picture of Kyla wearing this headband...I'd say she did a great job!
Addi trying on a princess crown.
Sweet girl!
Addi really wanted one of these balloons, but since we were trying to leave the park with only having to buy two bottles of water, we suggested to her that we take a picture by it and print it out for her to put on her wall at home. She liked the idea, and so here it is for all of you to enjoy as well :)
Feel free to print it out and put it on your wall too :)
The last thing we did before parting the Magical World of Disney was take a picture with the ones who started it all...
Mickey and Minnie Mouse
We had soooo much fun on our spontaneous trip. It made us feel like we were in college again :). It was so much fun to see Addi's face light up with all the excitement. We rode all the kiddy rides, including the carousel three times, met the princesses twice each and visited Cinderella's castle at least three times. We woulnd't have had it any other way!
As we were walking out of the park Addi could barely keep her eyes open.
Going...
Going...
Gone!
Dreaming of driving Belle's car I'm sure :)

The Highlights of our lives

To preserve our family memories for years to come, this next post is going to be some of the highlights of the past few months.

Jacob and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary!
I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I feel so lucky to have married my best friend and I am soooo excited for an eternity with the love of my life!
I love you babe!
Happy Anniversary!
In April Addi and I flew to Utah to be with family. Jacob wasn't able to come due to school :( but Addi and I were very grateful we could see everyone again.
There aren't very many pictures from our trip home because I seem to always forget to take them, but here are the few I do have.

Addi and grandpa trying to figure something out.

Mom, Wendy, Dad, Addi at my grandparents house.
This is where Addison learned her slippery fish song, thanks to my cousin Nat, and the help of some very slippery fish actors (see video at the bottom :)

We were able to go to the temple

And Aunt Wendy threw a cupcake party for Addi. She absolutely loved it. She is such a little girly girl and she was in heaven the entire time.

A little sidenote: Addison loves shoes and she would wear my mom's shoes whenever she was able, hence the big shoes in this picture :) I love it!

Addi and aunt Wendy

Mmmmmm Thanks Aunt Wendy! That was a GREAT party!

We loved every second of our trip home. Thank you everybody for hanging out with us :)

This is a picture of another one of my final cakes. it was supposed to be two layers, but my top layer fell apart, so this is what it ended up being. Cute anyways.

Another highlight of the month was Addi's first pet.
We knew it wasn't feasible to get a puppy right now so we opted for fish instead.
This is Addi looking at all the fish and trying to decide which one she wants :)
Preparing the tank

Dumping the fish in...she named then Sam, Moosha and Lujah (short for hallelujah).
I love her creativity!

This last weekend we went to Cape San Blas in Port St. Joe. It is a Florida state park with the bay on one side of the road and the gulf of Mexico on the other. It is absolutely beautiful! This was probably our favorite day trip since being in Florida.

We did a ton of snorkeling for shells and other fun creatures.
We found a rare sea shell too!

We also went to the grand opening of the new airport. This means that we can fly home for cheaper and you can visit us for cheaper! Let's do the shout hooray dance as Addi would say!
Addi loved getting her face painted.

Easter Celebration

This is one of my favorite times of year! The weather is starting to warm up, the blossoms are overflowing on the trees and tiny little ducklings are starting to hatch. And all over the globe people are rejoicing and celebrating the life of our Savior Jesus Christ.
I am so grateful for my Savior and for the Atonement and His Ressurection!
I know He lives and we will live again too!

Here is how we celebrated Easter!
We colored Easter Eggs...Addi love it!
Primary Activity
First we visited the nursing home and sang primary songs to the residents, then we had an Easter egg hunt.
This first picture is of Addison and her best friend! These two are always holding hands and sitting next to each other. It puts a big smile on my face to see them playing together.
Easter morning Addi found her little Easter basket and we read about the Resurrection in the scriptures.
This year was a homemade Easter.
Addi helped me pick out the fabric for her Easter dress this year and I got busy on my first ever pattern dress. It wasn't perfect, but it turned out cute.
Sweet Addison in her new Easter dress.
I also made this little crayon holder for Addi's Easter present. It cost me all of about fifty cents.
I had been wanting a fun, quiet way to store crayons for church and I found this idea somewhere (sorry for not giving credit. I just don't remember where I saw it).

And then what better way to spend Easter day then being able to listen to the Prophet and Apostles speak in General Conference. What a great conference it was! I was uplifted and inspired, and motivated to be more like Jesus Christ.
What a great time of year!

Just Us!

St. Patrick's Day!
I made a yummy new recipe along with green rolls and green jello. Doesn't look too appetizing, but it was if I do say so myself :)
A Pinecone, Peanut Butter, and Bird seeds equals a fun activity and a tasty bird feeder :)
(It's hanging in the tree in the background)
Happy Birthday to me...the big 24.
Jacob was so sweet to me on my birthday! He made me a special dinner as well as a two flavored cake. I couldn't decide what kind of cake I wanted so he surprised me with a half carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and half yellow cake with chocolate frosting..YUMMMM!
This is us celebrating my much older and much wiser self.
Addi put the candles on the chocolate side. Great job Addi!
I just wanted to be with my family on my birthday and play and not worry about cleaning, cooking etc. So that is what we did!
This is a picture of some of our hiding spots in hide and seek :)
It took them a while to find me...Again..hehehe
Just a few pictures of my course 2 final cake. This was a really fun cake to make!
Can't wait to make another one!

This is the cake before Addi's little finger got into it...silly girl!
My enormous amount of flowers that I made...still have tons left over
(will be good for Easter)
And finally just a few pictures of my sweet Addi playing.
Another bird feeder

Training to be like her daddy :)
