Adventures with Wendy

This past Thanksgiving week my sister Wendy came to visit us in Florida. It was sooo good to be with her! We missed her the second we dropped her off at the airport. These are just a few of the MANY pictures that we took while she was here.

Much of the time Wendy was here we played with Addi and enjoyed talking with one another. These are a few pictures Wendy took while we were playing with Addi. Oh and Wendy worked really hard with Addi to try and get her to say Wendy. She didn't get her full name out (she isn't even a year yet, so I wasn't expecting it), but she did get the W sound, and I have to admit... I'm impressed with Wendy's skills!
I know this picture is blurry, but it makes me laugh because this is what we do quite a bit...push Addi on her bike. This was early in the morning so don't mind my beautiful attire.

We went to a cute little shopping center called Pier Park and took a picture in front of this wacky mirror that accentuated our hips.

One of the only things Wendy wanted to do before she left was see a sunset on the beach, so the last night she was here (Thanksgiving) we went to the beach and enjoyed God's beautiful creation.

One of the highlights of Wendy's trip was Shell Island. We loved it! We took a 45 minute cruise to shell island and on the way we saw TONS of dolphins, I couldn't help but shout in excitement. I'm sure the people around me were thinking I was weird, but it was so exciting! Shell Island itself was beautiful, just look at these next few pictures and you will see for yourself.

These seagulls followed the cruise ship all the way to shell island and back, and Jacob shot some really good pictures of them, I don't think this is even the best one.

When we got back, the sun was setting, and it was so beautiful! (I think beautiful is just going to be my word for this post)

One of the days, while Jacob was at class, Wendy, Addi and I took a picnic to the bay, and had a nice little outing. Addi loved the swings at the playground

On Sunday we made carmel apples with tons of carmel...I guess that is what makes them so good though right?

On Sunday night, Wendy put a diaper on Addi's head and she loved it, she kept it on for a long time, so Wendy decided to join in. This moment also gave way to Addi learning a new sign...HAT! She hits her head pretty hard when she signs it, but it is so cute! Thanks Wendy for teaching Addi how to sign hat!

We also went to the famous St. Andrew's state park where you can get close up and personal with the alligators. Not only did we see an alligator, but we saw jelly fish and deer too!

Watch out for that alligator Mr. Bird!

Fun tree on the trail around the alligator swamp.

Thank you so much for coming Wendy, we love you!

The Beach, The storm, and Addi

All right, here are some pictures from the past week and a half. This picture was taken during our family home evening with the sunset of the beach in the background. It was so beautiful and calm, I'm becoming quite fond of the beach these days!

These next few pictures might need some explaining. After we put Addi to bed on Friday, a HUGE storm rolled in. The lightning was brighter than I had ever seen before and it lit up the entire night sky. The thunder was cracking like a bull whip, and it was louder than I have ever heard it, and the rain was coming down in sheets because of the strong winds! Needless to say, it was the biggest storm we have ever seen, that is probably because we aren't from around her, but still, it was HUGE! Anyways, Jacob and I thought it would be fun to take turns running to a line of trees just outside of our apartment. It was just a tiny ways away, but we were drenched by the time we got back inside.

Side note: The next day was our ward Thanksgiving Feast, and one of our fellow ward members said that when storms like that come racing in, you better watch out for the tornadoes that can easily form...woops :) I guess the next time, we won't be as daring, but it was fun while it lasted!

These next few pictures are of Addi's new outfit from Grandma. She looks so grown up in it, and stylin' too I must add. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

I had to post this next picture because it is one of Addi's new favorite toys. She loves being pushed on it, and holding onto it while she walks. Thanks Julie for the new toy!
This is a picture of Addi and one of her favorite pass times...shoving a golf ball in her mouth. I think it is so funny how she can shove the entire thing inside her tiny little mouth. I think she might have started doing this because it is easier to crawl with it not in her hands...pretty smart little girl :)

Another one of Addi's favorite pass times is taking things out of the kitchen cupboards and scattering them all around. Today, she actually climbed all the way in one of the cupboards.

Weekly Moments!

We tried to get a cute picture of Addi in her Sunday best, but when we tried to take away her balloon for just a second she got upset, hence the picture of her sad face and her with her balloon, these weren't the pictures I was looking for, but this is our life, and I love it...she is still so adorable if I do say so myself! (Side note: The balloon was barely blown up, so it wouldn't pop on her toothless gums, and we watched her like a hawk the entire two minutes that she played with it)
Addison absolutely loves helping me with laundry, from start to finish. She will help me throw clothes in the washer, she will take them out of the dryer, and then she will remove one item at a time from the laundry basket and had it to me so I can fold it. What a big helper! These next few pictures are Addi after I put her in the dryer...she got so excited(hence the following picture) She would take one item at a time out of the dryer and throw it on the floor. She is so much fun to have around even if little tasks take twice as long, I guess that is what makes life so great!Taking each item and throwing it on the floor :)

I just had to throw this picture in there because one of Addi's new favorite things is her sippy cup. In this picture she wouldn't put it down for anything, she just held it in her hand while she ate and would occasionally take a drink. This little girl loves her water!

L'il Pumpkin

If you know me, you know I've never really liked Halloween...Mostly because it is such a scary Holiday. This year however, I loved it. It was so much fun dressing Addi up and taking her trick-or-treating. She was pretty confused at first, but by the end of the night she was jabbering up a storm and smiling too.
Just as a side note, the costume didn't come with tights or shoes so I did my best to make her shoes and die her tights. They turned out pretty good...the only problem was that she drooled a little bit on her tights, and the die came off on her legs, so now she has green spots on her legs. Her bath did help lighten the green up though :)
When we got home from trick-or-treating, we set Addi on the ground with her candy bucket and she immediately dug in, taking each piece of candy one by one until she had scattered them all around.
