The Highlights of our lives

To preserve our family memories for years to come, this next post is going to be some of the highlights of the past few months.

Jacob and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary!
I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I feel so lucky to have married my best friend and I am soooo excited for an eternity with the love of my life!
I love you babe!
Happy Anniversary!
In April Addi and I flew to Utah to be with family. Jacob wasn't able to come due to school :( but Addi and I were very grateful we could see everyone again.
There aren't very many pictures from our trip home because I seem to always forget to take them, but here are the few I do have.

Addi and grandpa trying to figure something out.

Mom, Wendy, Dad, Addi at my grandparents house.
This is where Addison learned her slippery fish song, thanks to my cousin Nat, and the help of some very slippery fish actors (see video at the bottom :)

We were able to go to the temple

And Aunt Wendy threw a cupcake party for Addi. She absolutely loved it. She is such a little girly girl and she was in heaven the entire time.

A little sidenote: Addison loves shoes and she would wear my mom's shoes whenever she was able, hence the big shoes in this picture :) I love it!

Addi and aunt Wendy

Mmmmmm Thanks Aunt Wendy! That was a GREAT party!

We loved every second of our trip home. Thank you everybody for hanging out with us :)

This is a picture of another one of my final cakes. it was supposed to be two layers, but my top layer fell apart, so this is what it ended up being. Cute anyways.

Another highlight of the month was Addi's first pet.
We knew it wasn't feasible to get a puppy right now so we opted for fish instead.
This is Addi looking at all the fish and trying to decide which one she wants :)
Preparing the tank

Dumping the fish in...she named then Sam, Moosha and Lujah (short for hallelujah).
I love her creativity!

This last weekend we went to Cape San Blas in Port St. Joe. It is a Florida state park with the bay on one side of the road and the gulf of Mexico on the other. It is absolutely beautiful! This was probably our favorite day trip since being in Florida.

We did a ton of snorkeling for shells and other fun creatures.
We found a rare sea shell too!

We also went to the grand opening of the new airport. This means that we can fly home for cheaper and you can visit us for cheaper! Let's do the shout hooray dance as Addi would say!
Addi loved getting her face painted.

Easter Celebration

This is one of my favorite times of year! The weather is starting to warm up, the blossoms are overflowing on the trees and tiny little ducklings are starting to hatch. And all over the globe people are rejoicing and celebrating the life of our Savior Jesus Christ.
I am so grateful for my Savior and for the Atonement and His Ressurection!
I know He lives and we will live again too!

Here is how we celebrated Easter!
We colored Easter Eggs...Addi love it!
Primary Activity
First we visited the nursing home and sang primary songs to the residents, then we had an Easter egg hunt.
This first picture is of Addison and her best friend! These two are always holding hands and sitting next to each other. It puts a big smile on my face to see them playing together.
Easter morning Addi found her little Easter basket and we read about the Resurrection in the scriptures.
This year was a homemade Easter.
Addi helped me pick out the fabric for her Easter dress this year and I got busy on my first ever pattern dress. It wasn't perfect, but it turned out cute.
Sweet Addison in her new Easter dress.
I also made this little crayon holder for Addi's Easter present. It cost me all of about fifty cents.
I had been wanting a fun, quiet way to store crayons for church and I found this idea somewhere (sorry for not giving credit. I just don't remember where I saw it).

And then what better way to spend Easter day then being able to listen to the Prophet and Apostles speak in General Conference. What a great conference it was! I was uplifted and inspired, and motivated to be more like Jesus Christ.
What a great time of year!

Just Us!

St. Patrick's Day!
I made a yummy new recipe along with green rolls and green jello. Doesn't look too appetizing, but it was if I do say so myself :)
A Pinecone, Peanut Butter, and Bird seeds equals a fun activity and a tasty bird feeder :)
(It's hanging in the tree in the background)
Happy Birthday to me...the big 24.
Jacob was so sweet to me on my birthday! He made me a special dinner as well as a two flavored cake. I couldn't decide what kind of cake I wanted so he surprised me with a half carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and half yellow cake with chocolate frosting..YUMMMM!
This is us celebrating my much older and much wiser self.
Addi put the candles on the chocolate side. Great job Addi!
I just wanted to be with my family on my birthday and play and not worry about cleaning, cooking etc. So that is what we did!
This is a picture of some of our hiding spots in hide and seek :)
It took them a while to find me...Again..hehehe
Just a few pictures of my course 2 final cake. This was a really fun cake to make!
Can't wait to make another one!

This is the cake before Addi's little finger got into it...silly girl!
My enormous amount of flowers that I made...still have tons left over
(will be good for Easter)
And finally just a few pictures of my sweet Addi playing.
Another bird feeder

Training to be like her daddy :)

Crafty Wafty

For Valentine's/ Birthday, my very wonderful and thoughtful husband got me a sewing machine! A beautiful, easy to use sewing machine! To say I am excited would be a drastic understatement. I have new projects flooding my mind every day. Here are a few that I have managed to get done. (I'm not an expert sewer by any means, so don't judge too harshly :)
New hairclips for Addi. I had a friend (thanks Emily) show me how to make these cute little things (she made the pink one). Eventually I'll get more colors. They are easy and cute. Here is the link to the pattern.
This is my new table runner

My cousin made her daughter some repurposed sweater dresses, and they were adorable, so I tried it out too. Thanks Kathryn! It still needs a bit of tweaking in some places, but here it is for now.

I didn't sew these, but they were another one of my projects. These were 1950's Betsy Ross paper dolls that I printed off and cut out, then i put velcro on them so it would be easier for Addi's tiny little fingers to switch out the dresses.

I'll keep you posted on further projects :)

Have a happy day!

What do you eat for breakfast?

This morning I asked Addi what she wanted for breakfast and she looked at me and said "Broccoli". So that is what she had...three servings of it! Where did I get such a good girl?

Love you Addi :)

That's One Strange Duck!

The other day Addi and I were headed out for a walk and found Cheerio at our door. We went inside to get her some bread and next thing we know she had invited herself in. I guess she feels really comfortable with us because she wouldn't leave after that. She stayed in our house for a good half hour. She really wanted to go into Addi's room for some reason. Strange Duck!

This is a picture of Addi showing Cheerio how to waddle outside.

Addi saying: "Cheerio, no more poopies in the house"

Addi saying: "You want to come outside with us?"
Strange Cheerio Duck!

Day to Day

We don't have any big news to report about, just our little day to day life. It is simple, but it's a wonderful life!
A little while back we had somebody in our ward give us two free bikes with a child seat. We have really enjoyed them.
My sister gave me this brilliant idea to cover up clear plastic storage drawers with paper to make them more attractive, and to hide what's inside. Now I have cute organized drawers in Addi's closet for all her toys. Wahoo!
Cheap and Easy...Love it!

One of Addi's new favorite things is playing picnic at the park (living room).
In this picture, she is salting her baby's food.
(Notice she has a plate for her, her baby, her ducky and me)

Addi loves to go on walks with her babies too!
There are four of them in her tiny little stroller (each with their own names: Addi, Kyla,
Big Esther and Litte Esther).
For Christmas Jacob signed me up for a cake decorating class.
I have LOVED it and I start the next session of classes this week.
I made this cake out of all the roses that I was practicing with. Not bad for a first timer, but hopefully they'll get better.
Cheerio found a new perch...Addi's window seal.

We played hide and seek one evening and I hid in the dryer.
It took Addi and Jacob a looong time to find me. Love it!
Going for a walk on a cold Florida day, this time with Rudolph :)
