Keeping Busy

Addi loves flowers, and she always has a handful when we get done with our walks around the pond. Most the time they get squished in her hands, but sometimes they make it to the kitchen counter. These flowers were lucky enough to make it to the counter.

After passing these pretty little flowers many times as I walked back and forth through the house, a little light bulb when on in my head and I thought...

Since our dear sweet Cheerio knocked my last flowers off our railing to reclaim her perch, why don't I just plant wild flowers in my planters this time instead of buying them.

So...
That same morning, Addi and I headed to the pond with a spoon and our Easter bucket to collect some wild flowers.

Then Addi helped me plant them and water them, and this is the end result.
It has been about a week or so and they are still doing great, thanks to Addi for always reminding me to water them.
Well, onto another fun project... A while ago I was trying to figure out how I was going to make a temple for the primary bulletin board. After a lot of searching for clip art and failing at a few sketches of the Orlando temple, I decided to just make one myself out of paper. I had no idea how I was going to do it or if it would even work out, but after sitting down for about an hour and a half I did it! It isn't stunning or amazingly detailed, but it got the job done.

Now onto project #3: Addi's dreser. Addi's dresser has been one of those constant projects with drawers that are always falling off the track no matter what we try. I was just about to give up on it when I saw my cousin's blog about redoing her daughter's dresser, and it gave me the umph to try one last time. So I got the necessary materials to fix the drawers and to paint it white, and set off to do it. One of the drawers is crooked, but I'm just going to ignore it, so please feel free to ignore it too :) Oh, and it needs a second coat of paint, but that will happen soon enough (it isn't easy spray painting a dresser on your patio that is only about 3 feet by 7 feet)
These next pictures aren't really a project, just fun pictures of Addi and I in our fort :)

One last snippit...The picture of Cheerio above is at about 3:00 in the afternoon. It was so dark because of the huge thunderstorm. It was poring rain, but there she was, our faithful little duck. We were stuck inside because of a tornado warning, thank goodness that passed :)

This was the playground after the storm, one big puddle...Addi was so sad she couldn't 'wing' (swing).
