Family Home Evening at the pumpkin patch

For Family Home Evening we went to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin to carve. Here are some fun pictures of Addison's first time at the pumpkin patch.

When we cut the top off our pumpkin, Addi dug in. She loved the taste of the pumpkin and sucked on it the entire time we were carving.

This was our annual Halloween meal. Pumpkin "goul-losh" and Ghost smoothies. Addi in her halloween outfit from Grandma.

I finally figured our how to put video's on...Wahoo! It isn't the best video, but it shows Addison talking a little bit. I just picked a random video to test out. I will post more when I get a good one. Oh, and next time I'll remember to not turn the camera. :)

A Texas Birthday and a trip to Georgia

Happy Birthday Jacob...27!!! Jacob had a great birthday, mostly because Texas won, but I think he enjoyed his presents too!

Addison is really excited about the Texas game too!

Just for posterity sake, Jacob got a shirt, the final book in the Great and Terrible series (We both highly recommend this series to anyone who wants a great read) and a Texas Longhorns surgical cap.
Jacob's school was being transferred to a new location the last couple of days, so he had a few days off. Since this doesn't happen very often, we decided to take advantage of the time and head to Atlanta, Georgia. Here are some pictures of our trip.

The Atlanta zoo was soo much fun. It is quite a large zoo, and we spent almost the entire day there.

The zoo also had a petting zoo inside. Addison wasn't sure about the goats and sheep at first, but after a while she enjoyed petting them, and even pulled a handfull of fur off of the goat.

I love this picture of Addi crawling through the naked mole rat tunnel. FYI...a naked mole rat is just like it sounds, a small rat looking thing that is completely void of hair.

All tuckered out!

These next few pictures are a McCurry park, where we went to play frisbee golf. It is such a beautiful park, as you will see in the pictures. Jacob played one of his best games ever...he launched his frisbee farther than I have ever seen him throw it, and with amazing accuracy between the many, many trees.

Our original reason for going to Atlanta was to go the the temple. It was such a blessing to have a temple so close in Boise, and I appreciate the temple being so close even more, now that we live 5 hours away from the nearest temple. It felt so good to be able to go the temple, and enjoy the spirit there. Here are a couple of pictures of the Atlanta, Georgia temple.

Unexpected visitors!

So the other day when we went to the bay, we found some really exotic, scary different looking sea shells and since we have been in the habit of collecting them, we decided we would bring them home. After I washed all the sand off of them, I set them in the sink to dry, and thought nothing else of them, until...I heard some banging in the kitchen. When I went to see what the noise was all about, I discovered hermit crabs in both sea shells. Well, since we didn't have time to take them back to the bay that night, we left them in the sink all night. This probably wasn't a good idea because we could hear them banging throughout the night, anyways, we took them back to the bay the next day. It was a fun visit with the hermit crabs, but we are glad they are now back where they belong.

These pictures don't do justice for how big the crabs actually were...they were Gigantic...I don't know how they managed to cram themselves inside a relatively small shell.

Boise vs. Southern Miss

This past Saturday, Jacob went to the Boise state vs. Ole Miss game with Tyler who is also from Boise. On the way to Mississippi they stopped at a restaurant called Wings and watched the Texas vs. Oklahoma game. What an awesome game, and congrats to Texas for pulling out the 'W'...."Hook 'em Horns!!! Boise state also won their game, so it was a great trip all around! Here are a few pictures of their adventure!

Here are just a few pictures from the last couple of weeks. Well, a little more than a few I guess. What can I say? I love pictures!

We went to the bay this evening and had a great time watching the fish jump and poking at the dead jellyfish.
